In 1979 the national Headway-the brain injury association charity was founded, and in the following years a whole network of affiliated local Headway charities were established to offer direct brain injury specialised services to families in their own localities. In 1996 one of those created was Headway Nottingham, and all these years later we are established as the only service offering support without a time limit, to adults affected by brain injury in Nottinghamshire.

While our services have evolved and changed over the years, what remains is our absolute commitment to empower those affected to understand their worth and achieve their potential.

Since 1996 we have supported over 2000 people affected by brain injury.

Our staff have a combined experience working in the field of brain injury of over 50 years.

In the last five years we have taken over 6500 telephone calls asking for help and advice.

We have given work experience and fulfilment to 470 volunteers
