Our brain are ridiculously complex, and living with the effects of brain injury can feel overwhelming, for the individual themselves, and for those who love and care for them. There are so many different types of difficulties experienced after brain injury, and each brain injury is completely unique. There is no “one size fits all” approach to adjusting to life after brain injury and we simply can’t know in the early stages just what life will look like a few years from now.

We want to support each person affected by brain injury to understand the effects of their injury and the practical strategies that can be used to minimise the negative impact these disabilities can have in their everyday life. Our staff will always try to make themselves available to answer any queries and questions you have, but sometimes you may just want to have access to information that you can read, and revisit when you have the need.

Our national colleagues at Headway-the brain injury association have a very well-respected information library on their website where you can find a range of e-booklets and factsheets that cover many of the symptoms and practical issues associated with brain injury. You can visit their library of information here. People with a brain injury, and their families, can order free printed copies of the booklets from the Headway Helpline on 0808 800 2244.

At Headway Nottingham we firmly believe that in knowledge we find the ability to understand, adapt, adjust and accept. Knowledge is power!
