Greg, a Trustee of Headway Nottingham and Partner at Rothera Bray Solicitors, is taking on 26.2 miles this Sunday to raise vital funds for people living with brain injury in our community.

This Sunday, Greg will take to the streets of London alongside 59,000 runners in one of the world’s most iconic endurance events – and he’s doing it all for our community here at Headway Nottingham.

Professionally and personally, Greg is dedicated to making a difference to the lives of those with brain injuries, and understands the long and often life-changing journey that follows a brain injury. That personal connection is what makes Greg’s challenge all the more meaningful. For Greg, the marathon is not simply a physical feat, it is a tribute to every person starting their journey with Headway Nottingham.

I know that every person Headway Nottingham supports is completing their own marathon, day in, day out, potentially for the rest of their lives. Nobody should have to face that alone. – Greg Almond, Headway Nottingham Trustee

Greg chose to take on the 26.2 miles of the iconic race because he recognises how important and special Headway Nottingham is:

“Headway Nottingham’s community is remarkable. The centre is a place where people can find friendship, understanding, specialist rehabilitation and the chance to rebuild their confidence and independence. I’ve seen the difference it makes, and I believe passionately that every person living with a brain injury deserves access to that kind of support.

“I’ve seen firsthand just how much of a difference the right support can make to someone’s recovery and quality of life. Brain injury can happen to anyone, at any time, and the challenges it brings can be life-changing. So the 26.2 miles of pain and determination will all be worth it to help raise vital funds for the incredible people served by Headway Nottingham… who need and deserve the support they provide.”

Greg has already raised an incredible £1,345, and every pound raised goes directly towards that work. But he is not finished yet, and with the finish line of the London Marathon now in sight, there is still time to show your support.
